Description
This day trip will give you a taste of Slovenia’s Alpine splendour by visiting its most stunning glacial lakes. You will get a chance to swim in this pristine environment, hike up to a mysterious waterfall, and feel the rush of canyoning in one of the gorges located nearby.
The wider Bohinj area isn’t only one of the most beautiful places to visit in Slovenia, thanks to its diverse landscape, it also offers an array of fantastic activities. The most obvious and refreshing one is, of course, going for a swim in the cool waters of Lake Bohinj itself. But why not make a detour first and visit a surreally gorgeous gorge like Grmečica or Jereka for some canyoning. A 30-minute hike will take you to the top of the gorge where the fun begins. Fully equipped and in the company of a professional guide, you will descend into its depths. Climbing down waterfalls, leaping from rocky edges into emerald pools and sliding down natural toboggans will surely get your adrenaline pumping. Then it’s time to visit the tranquil, fairy tale environment of Lake Bohinj. Having a dip in this glacial wonder is a very refreshing experience that should be followed by a pleasant walk through the woods up to the famous Savica waterfall. On the way back, a quick stop in Bled to enjoy the view of its famous lake and castle is obligatory.
Things to know
You should wear comfortable sporty clothes and shoes. Also bring an extra layer (a jacket) as the weather can change quickly. All the gear you will need for canyoning will be provided by the guide.
We believe that your experience will be better in smaller groups. Therefore, there will be a maximum of 9 guests per guide.
On our tours you will have professional local guides. Our guides will make sure that you will have expert guiding combined with great fun and memorable experience.
You will need a swimsuit to wear beneath the canyoning wetsuit and a towel. Don’t forget to bring some drinking water and some snacks.
Bad weather is not a problem when you go canyoning or rafting. Our tours will not be canceled unless there would be safety considerations because of extreme bad weather (like thunderstorms). We do advise you to bring a rain jacket in case of bad weather forecast.
If you are a healthy person with normal mobility, canyoning and rafting activities are for you. You do not need to be super-fit! However, the tour is not suitable for pregnant women, people with mobility impairments, people with spine injuries and non-swimmers. If you have any health issues please consult with a guide.
Children older than 12 years old and higher than 120cm are welcome on the tour.
Grmečica is more suitable for active people who enjoy a bit of adrenaline, while Jereka is easier and more suitable for laid back people and first-time canyoners.
Our experiences are priced per person, as listed. However, some experiences have a minimum requirement of 2 participants. Solo travelers can still book these experiences but will need to cover the cost for two participants. If a group forms for the same experience, we can refund the difference in cost to the solo traveler.
