Join a professional local cyclist on this amazing one-day road cycling tour that starts and finishes in Ljubljana. You will venture into the open countryside of the Ljubljana Basin, ascend a hill for some panoramic views, and then make a dash through the meadows and fields of rural Slovenia to relax in the streets of Slovenia’s vibrant capital.

Ljubljana has all the perks of a modern city while successfully maintaining the coziness of a small town. As the European Green Capital 2016, Ljubljana is no stranger to sustainability and is one of the most cyclist-friendly places you’ll ever visit. Whether you’re on a longer stay or just passing through the most beautiful city in Europe and happen to be a passionate cyclist, this package is meant for you.

This guided One-Day Slovenia Road Cycling Tour begins in Ljubljana and takes you deep into the incredibly picturesque countryside of the capital’s immediate surroundings. One of the main advantages of cycling in Slovenia are good quality roads and light traffic, so expect to feel the freedom of the road from start to finish. As you whiz out of the urban area, the route remains flat while the scenery already changes dramatically as houses are replaced by open fields. The trail is very popular among locals, with sections of it running along the famous Franja Marathon. We’ll wind our way along the foothills of the Polhov Gradec Dolomites, part of the gorgeous pre-Alpine hilly region of north-western Slovenia, and ascend the highest peak Sv. Trije Kralji (Three Holy Kings) with a church of the same name. The 850 m summit offers spectacular views and doubles as our quick pit-stop. Our tour will then descend into the lowlands, past the scenic municipality of Horjul, and back to Ljubljana for a nice refreshing drink.

No bike? No problem. If you don’t have your own bike, we can provide you with a rental: a high-performance road bike fitted to your dimensions. The tour itself is led by a local English-speaking professional cyclist who will make sure the pace is suited to your needs. All you have to do is enjoy the ride!

What should I wear on Road Cycling Slovenia Tour?

The weather on the tour is going to be similar to the weather in Ljubljana. If not sure how much to dress it is better to take more clothes and leave excess in the office after consulting with the guide.

What happens in the event of bad weather?

Even though Slovenia is small, it has quite a diverse climate, so it is not unusual for the weather to be better in another part of the country.
