Description of Ljubljana MTB tour

Most of the tour runs through cool forested areas and down off-road single-track trails. There is plenty of room for customisation of the routes, making the terrain we encounter suitable for both MTB beginners as well as experienced mountain bikers, hungry for a proper adrenaline boost. What makes this MTB tour incredibly unique is that its top-notch routes run through pristine natural surroundings, located practically in the heart of a European capital. Diehard mountain bikers will also get a chance to try out sections of the world-famous “Golovec trails”.

Our tour begins in the centre of Ljubljana. We follow the Ljubljanica River embankment straight uphill and into the woods. At first, the train is undemanding, with the difficulty level slowly increasing as we tackle the hilly terrain. Not to worry, the pace will be adjusted according to participants’ abilities. Gradually the forest path leads us to the village of Orle, from where we'll make our way down a smooth single trail, descending to the ancient Church of St. Urh. Our batteries recharged, it’s time to put out e-bikes to the test as we head uphill to reach the Golovec hill ridge before descending back towards Ljubljana.

Terrain: tarmac, gravel and dirt

The tour goes on some slightly more technical terrain, perfect for those seeking a bit of adrenaline.

I couldn't believe there's a trail right in the very city center. There's an actual hill in the middle of the city, which is crazy. Loved it!

This trail actually stars in the center of Lubiana and the ride is up the nearby hill. So close, took about 4 hours in total.
