Description of Bled biking tour

Lake Bled is a must-see attraction in Slovenia, but the crowds can quickly make it into a less-than-ideal experience. Heading off the beaten path is a superb alternative. Together with our expert local guide, you will experience the best of both worlds in this Lake Bled bike ride. In addition to the famous lakeside trail, we’ll cycle through rustic villages, discover hidden natural gems, and visit the Bled Castle with its mighty walls, rich history and spellbinding views.

Our adventure begins by riding in the exceptionally picturesque farmland in the outskirts of Bled. The trail takes us through the alpine fields and meadows, up to the idyllic St. Katherine Church, a cute gothic church dating back to the early 15th century. From there, we continue along a wonderfully scenic trail with breath-taking views of the Bled Basin and eventually arrive at the top entrance of the famous Vintgar Gorge. Slowly descending towards the lake, we can stop off at the majestic Bled Castle. This pitstop comes highly recommended – not only is it the oldest and remarkably preserved castle in Slovenia, it also affords some of the grandest views of Lake Bled and its wider area.

Back on our bikes, we descend to Lake Bled’s promenade, circling around the loveliest northern part of the glacial lake. The route then takes us through villages just south of the lake towards the cool Sava River. We’ll cycle down macadam roads in this pleasantly shaded area before stopping at a gorgeous little lake to recharge our batteries. Crossing the Sava twice, we’ll arrive back at the broad fields, pass camp Šobec, and make our way back to Bled.

This route mainly runs along lesser known bike trails around Lake Bled, perfect for our e-bikes and not too demanding for you, so you can enjoy the surroundings to the fullest. So, if you want to experience the beauty of the wider Bled area, not only for the pretty snapshots you’ve already seen online, join us on this unforgettable biking tour. Your body and soul will be greatly rewarded!

We actually took the roads without the crowds, which is hard to believe in such an iconic place like Bled. Just beautiful the castle, the church in the middle of the lake. Need to see that.

Lake Bled is gorgeous. Was nice to ride further along the river to keep yourself cool in July. We also saw other cute villages nearby and avoided. If you like stunning mountains and nature, this is perfect for you!

Just adore Bled, the scenery is like a fairy tale. The old castle on top is crazy, everything so picturesque! And I had a lot of fun riding an e-bike on the roads we took. Was great, I recommend
