Frequently Asked Questions

Which farm activities can I participate in?

There are heaps of different activities on the farm. But which activity you will participate in, really depends on what the farmer will decide we need to do for that specific day. Activities include everything from working on the field, mowing the grass, shucking the corn, moving the hay stacks, chopping the wood and cleaning the stables, down to feeding and milking the goats, collecting hen eggs, petting the rabbits, brushing the horses and so much more. There’s always something that needs to be done on a farm, so there shouldn’t be a dull moment while visiting.

What should I wear or bring?

Just wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We will give you gumboots and protective working clothes that you can wear over your own. We recommend sun protection during the hot summer days (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen) and warm clothes during the colder months, since we will spend the most of our day outdoors. Bring your camera, since you will definitely want to catch some photo memories.

Is it kid friendly?

Kids are most definitely welcomed. It’s a great chance for them to learn about living on a farm and interact with the farm animals. Most of the kids at our Farm Life Experience are very keen to help with the work around the farm and of course thrilled when petting the rabbits, brushing the horses or visiting the cow or piglet stables.

What animals will I get to see?

Quite a lot for one farm. You can see cows, goats, pigs, chickens, hens, roosters, rabbits, cats and horses. We can’t promise you will get to pet all of them, but they all live on the farm and we are allowed to visit their stables.

Do I need to bring a lunch snack?

There is no need to bring food with you, as the owner’s wife will prepare a traditional Slovenian lunch for you. Besides, we will get to know the farm and each other over some welcoming coffee and biscuits, to give us strength before we get down to farm work. All the ingredients for our lunch are grown on a farm and Mrs. Ana pours a lot of love into preparation. She usually prepares different sorts of meat, different side dishes, salads and desserts. Everything is home-made and absolutely delicious.
