In Slovenia, skiing in all its forms is nothing short of a national pastime. When conditions are right, and they mostly are, Slovenes migrate to the mountains to take advantage of their picture-perfect Alpine wonderland. Cross-country skiing is a sport Slovenes are particularly proud of. The country has produced many world-class athletes in this discipline, including Olympic medallists, all of whom have forged their careers on the envious network of Slovenia’s beautiful ski slopes and cross-country trails.

There’s no better place to practice this incredible sport than on the most awesome cross-country ski trails Slovenia has to offer. These well-maintained runs of varying difficulty are located in the Julian Alps, where nature has provided the perfect landscape for indulging in winter sports. The cross-country trails leading from the winter hub of Kranjska Gora, past the famous ski-jumping centre at Planica, towards the Tamar Valley, are simply exquisite. Then there’s the Pokljuka Plateau. Famous for its Biathlon World Cup and exceptionally stunning surroundings, Pokljuka is the crème de la crème of cross-country skiing. The trails, which are suitable for all ages and levels of fitness, run across peaceful pastures and through mythical spruce tree forests. Ski tracks will be picked depending on the weather and snow conditions.

Like most places in Slovenia, the aforementioned cross-country ski destinations are easily accessible and can be enjoyed by anyone. Our expert guides will show you the proper techniques and lead you down the most optimal trails. Beginners will be shown all the basics needed to handle themselves on the snow, while more advanced cross-country skiers will find plenty of exciting challenges to tackle. Throw some nice weather into the mix and you’ve got yourself a truly unforgettable experience. So grab your ski poles and follow us!

First off: the hike of approximately 1 hour to the cave can be quite intense. However, we train jiu jitsu daily which has quite some cardio, and for us it was very doable. The hike was fun and had a few very nice viewpoints. After the hike, our amazing guide Anže gave us a good training on how to use the caving/climbing gear to go down steep/vertical slopes and back up. After getting ready, which took about 45 mins, we went into the cave. The cave itself is very large, and had some really nice features of which Anže was very knowledgeable and was able to explain a lot of details. After walking through the cave for a while (15-30 mins?) we arrived at the best part: an abyss of 40m straight down. This was an amazing experience, which was thrilling yet felt very safe. Even my wife, who has fear of heights, enjoyed the experience. She was scared/frozen for a bit, but Anže calmed her down, after which she was able to go all the way to the bottom and enjoyed it a lot! After the descent into the abyss, we climbed back up via another path, and experienced some more amazing parts of the cave. About 3 hours into the trip (including hike and preparation) we exited the cave and hiked back down to our starting point. This took another 30 mins I think. All in all, around 4 hours total for our trip. The experience was really unique, felt safe, but still got the adrenaline pumping!! Both of us agree: 10/10 would do again!

We took the 4-hour "City Bike Tour Ljubljana" with our guide, Andrej. Andrej was fabulous: filled with informative, historical, and humorous details. The ride allowed us to see many parts of Ljubljana in a short time, and Andrej tied it all together. The ride was not too difficult (we are seniors). The lunch stop was perfect (Slovenian charcuterie, plus a pour of local wine): enough to eat, water to drink, and a convenient WC. We recommend this tour (and Andrej) without reservation. We could not hope for a better experience.

This was a truly amazing experience! We really enjoyed our beautiful Seven Lakes Valley hike with an overnight stay at a mountain hut. The alpine scenery of mountains throughout the hike was simply stunning especially the crystal clear emerald lakes, which are absolutely breathtaking! The cosy mountain hut was a lifesaver after a long day’s hike, dinner was hearty and delicious, atmosphere was lively and the beds were warm and comfortable - overall a great experience! What made it all the more enjoyable was being in the safe hands of our brilliant guide, Klemen who was not only very experienced, professional and knowledgeable, but he was also extremely helpful and accommodating. He went out of his way to take care of our needs during the journey. From the start, he was very responsive and proactive in helping us arrange our itinerary in the best way possible to maximise our time there. We also did a private rock climbing session with him after the hike and it was awesome! We definitely enjoyed our time in Slovenia with him and highly recommend going with this company and a private guide like him if you are looking for a customised trip.
