Description
What was the last time you said: “That was freaking epic!”? Well, the thrill of being high up on a frozen waterfall might just make you shout those words out loud.
Ice climbing might sound hard or dangerous, but it is first and foremost a fun experience that doesn’t require a lot of physical prowess or previous experience. Under the watchful eyes of our expert instructors, you’ll learn the very basics and climb your first frozen waterfall in total safety.
An experienced local ice climbing guide will assess the weather conditions and the skills of the group to pick the perfect waterfall. Not all waterfalls are the same every day – this way, we can make sure you get the very best spot on that day in all of Slovenia. If there are not good conditions in natural icefalls, we have an alternative – the ice arena, perfect for any level of ice climbing.
If you’re looking for a truly unique experience, ice climbing will give you a rush of adrenaline and feel-good chemicals – who knows, it might even make you fall in love with it.
Things to know
It is important that your clothes are comfortable. It is recommended that you also have some warmer and waterproof clothing as icefalls can get wet. High hiking boots with stiffer sole are also recommended. You can always leave excess clothes in the van after consulting with our guide.
Ice climbing depends to a great extent on conditions. Our guides know the area very well and will always choose the most suitable icefall according to conditions and your skills. However, if the conditions don’t allow safe ice climbing, you will be fully refunded.
We believe that your experience will be better in smaller groups. Therefore, there will be a maximum of 8 guests per guide.
The tour is flexible and it can be adjusted to your preferences, skills and fitness. There can almost always be found an icefall for everyone.
However, ice climbing is not recommended for pregnant women and people over 110kg – you have to fit in a harness. If you have health issues, consult with a guide.
