Description
When we think of a life full of laughter and free of stress, we think of people who are most connected to nature. Slovenia’s shepherds definitely fit into that category, and their centuries-old traditions are now available to you.
Our hike will start with a gondola lift from Kamniška Bistrica. From there, the paths will take us up grassy hills, where we will get to see an authentic shepherd’s village while taking in the breathtaking views of the Alps from Velika Planina Slovenia.
The tour is easy and flexible, suitable for beginners, families, and children.
Things to know
It is important that your clothes are comfortable. It is recommended that you also have some warmer and windproof clothing with you as temperature can drop or in case of cold wind. You can always leave excess clothes in the van after consulting with our guide.
Even though Slovenia is small, it has quite a diverse climate, so it is not unusual for the weather to be better in another part of the country. In that case, we will suggest a different tour where the weather will be nice. If offered alternative tour doesn’t suit you or if the weather is not suitable for hiking, you will receive a full refund if you have already prepaid our tour.
We believe that your experience will be better in smaller groups. Therefore, there will be a maximum of 8 guests per guide.
The tour is easy and suitable for everyone. It is flexible and it can be adjusted to your preferences, skills and fitness.
Our tours are led by professional local guides. Our guides will make sure that you receive expert guiding combined with great fun and a memorable experience.
Children are also welcomed on the tour. Children should be able to hike for a few hours with breaks. If you are planning to go on a tour with young kids, please let us know in advance and we can adjust the tour if necessary.
Bring enough water, some snacks and sunscreen or other sun protection. You can also bring trekking poles if you are used to them.
